Hey…

What are you looking up here for?

What’s Currently On My Mind

I’m making these short posts so you can see what’s on my mind.

I was working when my sister started to play some music that I hate (One Direction, Rihanna)  and it started to make me think about modern music.I hate everything by Katy Perry, One Direction, Ellie Goulding, Carrie Underwood, and Rihanna.I like Billy Joel, Pharrell Williams, and Van Halen. I like older music better than contemporary music. Thank God we have people like Weird Al Yankovic  to make funny songs. I don’t get how artists are so famous. People like Lionel Yuzzy should get more attention. Here is one of his videos:

Yes, he made all of those songs himself! Who do you think deserves more attention? Katy Perry or Lionel? Thinking about Lionel’s videos reminds me of Google’s new safety mode that is ridiculous, because it blocks some of Lionel’s videos. I have watched his videos lots of times and I see nothing that is inappropriate. Safety is ridiculous these days. In the US, some kid told me that I couldn’t ride my bike because I didn’t have a helmet on. He said it’s a law that you have to wear a helmet on a bike. What time of law is that?! When I played baseball, the pitcher has to wear this big pad in front of his chest. You don’t need that! You have ribs and a chest! In fact, I gave up trying to play organised sports. I think it’s a lot more fun to get some random kids and a ball and play. I like playing with city kids more than I like playing with suburb kids. Kids in London will play with you even if they have never seen you before. I basically go to the park everyday with ball, and stay for an hour.

My Trip to York

And now I’ll tell you a little bit about these places..

The York Dungeon is a place where they tell you about the scary bits of York’s history and scare you while they’re at it. It was fun, kind of scary, but you should go. It’s not as scary as people say it is. The National Rail Museum is the place to go if you like trains. There is a lot of trains to look at (you can go in some of them), you can see a model of the world’s fastest train that is life-sized. It’s next to the train station, so you can see the rail station from there. They show how signalling works and stuff like that. It was good. I didn’t get to stay that long, so I could have enjoyed it more. York’s Sweet Story is the chocolate factory of York. It tells you about chocolate’s history and how chocolate is made. Then you get to make your own chocolate bar! You must go there! The Jorvik Viking Center is a museum that tells you about vikings that lived in York. But it has smells from the times of the vikings, too. It’s ter-whiff-ic! You should go there. The York Castle Museum tells you all about the history of York. It has a recreated Victorian street. It is fun. Go there sometime. Clifford’s tower is a tower on a hill. You can see the entire city! It’s fun. I will be telling you about our next vacation soon.

My Trip to Sicily

On the first day (June 26), I took a Gatwick Express train to the train station. Then I took a shuttle to Gatwick North Terminal. Then after a while I got on the British Airways plane to Sicily. Then I had a long taxi ride to a ferry pier, and then I took a ferry to Lipari. There was another cab to our hotel, and when we got there we went to dinner and then to bed. The next day I just stayed at the hotel and took a taxi tour around Lipari.

The next day we went to Vulcano. It was amazing! There was the smell of sulfur, a huge volcano, and hot springs! We climbed the volcano,then went to the beach, which had black sand and hot springs down on the east side of the beach. It was so much fun!!☻☻☻ After a while we went home.

The next day we took a tour around the Aeolian islands. We saw Panarea (which was a nice place) and Stromboli. Stromboli had this huge volcano that was spurting out fire all the time. It was so cool!☻ The next day we went to mainland Sicily. We went to Toarmina. On this day we went to our pool and relaxed.

On the next day we went to the beach and took a funicula (cable car) back up. The next day we went to the beach but this time we took a boat tour. We saw a grotto that we could go in to! We went to a nice restaurant in Castelmola that night. On the next day we left. After a while we got home, took a shuttle, a train, and a tube home.

Website Update

siteeI finally got the Avada theme for my site. Here are a couple of things I’ve learned along the way: for FTP, don’t get Filezilla. It installs Speeddial and Norton on your computer. Use WinSCP. You also can’t send a theme over from another computer. Each time I did it from my dad’s computer, it broke my site. Finally, when I got it to my site, I FTPed it to my WP-Themes folder. Then I made an entirely new front page (image at top) with a slider, content boxes, and recent posts. The fusion slider is really easy to use, so I would start with that. Favicon and logo making is easy, use these sites: for Favicon and for Logo Making.

My Trip to Italy

My Trip to Italy

I went to Italy last Saturday with my Mum, Dad, and my sister. I woke up at 4:00 am and took a cab to Gatwick airport. As we were driving, we went by the place where I used to go ice skating in Streatham. When we got there, we went through customs, security, and finally got on the plane. One hour later, we arrived at Milan Malpensa airport and took a cab to Bellagio (a small little town close to Lake Como).

After going swimming, we watched some of the World Cup then went to bed. On the next day we took a ferry to Verenna and climbed a mountain with a castle on top.

Then we went back to our hotel and watched more of the World Cup and went to bed. Then tomorrow we took a train to Milan and got into our hotel there. Then we went to a park and went back to our hotel and watched (yawn) more of the World Cup. Then tomorrow we went to the Castle Sforzesco.

Then we went back to our hotel. The next day we took a cab to Malpensa Airport and left for home. When we took a cab back, we went near Chessington World of Adventures.

Then we got home.

My New Website

I have new website, domain, hosting, and the Avada theme. It is called Homeschool Son.

I will have a favicon like that. Unfortunately, I won’t be on this site as much. When I get Homeschool Son into full speed, I will not use this site anymore. You can join my website once I figure out how you can join it. My new website will have stuff even better this one. I have had 36736 hits on this website in 4 years.

Musescore Review

Musescore Review

I just downloaded Musescore yesterday. It is really good! You can do lots of things with it, even stuff I didn’t know you do on a piano! It has every thing from Glissandos to Tremolos, from Triplets to Nontuplets! It is awesome compared to the stuff that costs £700 like Sibelius or Finale. I am working on a song called Ice Kingdom. It is going along very quickly. Some times it crashes (like when you try to do lots of quick notes), but it doesn’t lose much data. I definitely recomend that you would buy it.

Evolution, The Big Bang Theory, and Other “Scientific” Nonsense Busted

Evolution, The Big Bang Theory, and Other “Scientific” Nonsense Busted

Warning: This might be too complicated for some people.

The Big Bang Theory

The reason this is wrong is because the First Law of Thermodynamics says that no energy or matter can be created or destroyed. The two random molecules could not have come from nothing. And all the energy that came from could not have come from nothing.

Evolution

Evolutionists say that the world started off as chaos, and got better and better. But the Law of Entropy says that everything gets less and less orderly. Darwin says that every living thing came from a puddle of goop, and plants and animals cames from mud and evolved for 6000 years. But why aren’t there new species every day? Clearly, evolution is impossible.

The World Is Running Out of Fossil Fuels

Wrong. Oil and other fossil fuels are made out of dead plants and animals, and scientists can make oil and coal just with dead plants and animals.

The World is 13.8 Billion Years Old

This time, Mr. Sun himself says that this is wrong. The sun gets hotter and hotter and time goes by. 10 billion years ago, the sun would be to cold to support life. And 10 billion years in the future, the sun would be way to hot.

London Transport Trivia

The overground is being updated!

London Transport Trivia

*I got this trivia from Wikipedia, TFL, Crossrail, and the sites that come up first when you Google “Tube Trivia”.*

    Tube Trivia

  • Gladstone and Dr. Barnado were the only people to ever have their coffins transported by tube.
  • Aldwych station (now closed) is featured on level 12 in the Tomb Raider game with Lara Croft killing rats.
  • Regent’s Park, Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park Corner and Bank are some of the few stations which do not have an above ground surface building.
  • The tunnel between East Finchley and Morden (via Bank) is the Underground’s longest and the 2nd longest rail tunnel in the world, 27.8km (17.25 miles).
  • The walking time between two underground stops in central London is never more than 10 minutes, and is sometimes a lot less. In fact, the shortest distance between two adjacent stations on the underground network is only 260 metres. The tube journey between Leicester Square and Covent Garden on the the Piccadilly Line takes only about 20 seconds, but costs £4.30.
  • The phrase MIND THE GAP originated on the Northern line in 1968.
  • London’s Tube is the oldest underground railway in the world. The Metropolitan Line – opened on 10 January 1863. The first stretch measured four miles and ran between Paddington and Farringdon.
  • They are making new extensions for lines, and they making two lines called Crossrail 1 and Crossrail 2.
    The Victoria line was going to be part of the Crossrail.
  • There are trams in London, from Wimbledon to New Addington, Beckenham Junction, and Elmer’s End.
  • The Tube is the second longest city rail way in the world.
  • Five tube stations are named after pubs: Angel, Elephant & Castle, Manor House, Royal Oak and Swiss Cottage

  • Bus Trivia

  • Keep your eyes open for the silver 9 bus. It is Year of the Bus and Mayor of London Boris Johnson is bringing back the old Routemaster buses.
  • A 76 bus was driving over Tower Bridge when he realised that the bridge was opening. The driver couldn’t stop, so he accelerated. He went fast enough to jump over the gap.
  • The 9 bus was described as the “cheapest and best tour”, because it goes through lots of cool places.
  • Crossrail Trivia

  • Crossrail is Europe’s largest construction project – work started in May 2009 and there are currently over 10,000 people working across over 40 construction sites.

  • The Crossrail map looks something like this:

    Battleship Game Made With Computer Programming!

    Battleship Game Made With Coding!

    Yay! I learned enough computer programming to make a Battleship Game!I made it with Python Computer Code. It is a simplified version of the real game, you have to guess where a ship is. The ship is on a point, and you have to guess where it is. You have four guesses.
    A link to it is here.Click save and submit to start.

    Amsterdam

    Amsterdam

    Last Friday, I went to Amsterdam with my Mom, Dad, and sister. It was so much fun. They have these good desserts called stroop wafels. They are so good!!

    Mmmmm…Yummy!

    Stroop wafels are 2 mini waffles stacked on to each other with caramel filling in the middle. I went to the Vertez Museum, the Rijks Museum, the Nemo Science Center, and the Maritime Museum. The Maritime Museum had a replica of a ship owned by the Dutch East India Company. It had cannons that made a loud noise. All of the museums I mentioned are fun! In Amsterdam, there are nearly as many bikes as people! And there are 600,000 people in Amsterdam! And Amsterdam has lots of canals. They are 3 meters deep. 1 meter mud, another meter water, and 1 more meter bikes. People throw a lot of bikes in the water, I guess.

    Computer Coding

    Computer Coding

    I have learned….

    By now I have learned lots of computer coding. I know JavaScript,CSS,HTML5, and I’m learning Python.

    No, not binary.

    With JS, you can make games like this:

    var troll = prompt(“You’re walking through the forest, minding your own business, and you run into a troll! Do you FIGHT him, PAY him, or RUN?”).toUpperCase();

    switch(troll) {
    case ‘FIGHT’:
    var strong = prompt(“How courageous! Are you strong (YES or NO)?”).toUpperCase();
    var smart = prompt(“Are you smart?”).toUpperCase();
    if(strong === ‘YES’ || smart === ‘YES’) {
    console.log(“You only need one of the two! You beat the troll–nice work!”);
    } else {
    console.log(“You’re not strong OR smart? Well, if you were smarter, you probably wouldn’t have tried to fight a troll. You lose!”);
    }
    break;
    case ‘PAY’:
    var money = prompt(“All right, we’ll pay the troll. Do you have any money (YES or NO)?”).toUpperCase();
    var dollars = prompt(“Is your money in Troll Dollars?”).toUpperCase();
    if(money === ‘YES’ && dollars === ‘YES’) {
    console.log(“Great! You pay the troll and continue on your merry way.”);
    } else {
    console.log(“Dang! This troll only takes Troll Dollars. You get whomped!”);
    }
    break;
    case ‘RUN’:
    var fast = prompt(“Let’s book it! Are you fast (YES or NO)?”).toUpperCase();
    var headStart = prompt(“Did you get a head start?”).toUpperCase();
    if(fast === ‘YES’ || headStart === ‘YES’) {
    console.log(“You got away–barely! You live to stroll through the forest another day.”);
    } else {
    console.log(“You’re not fast and you didn’t get a head start? You never had a chance! The troll eats you.”);
    }
    break;
    default:
    console.log(“I didn’t understand your choice. Hit Run and try again, this time picking FIGHT, PAY, or RUN!”);
    }

    In that game, the player makes choices on how to deal with the troll.

    With HTML5, you can make websites. That’s why I can make colors like this.
    CSS is for styling the HTML5. Combine JS,CSS, and HTML5, and you can use jQuery, which is for animating your stuff.
    Of course, other coding languages are useful too. With Python, you can make games like Battleship. But I only know basic, very basic things. I can’t make stuff like websites. When you press F12 on your keyboard, you see all the code for the site. But I only can understand a fraction of that.

    I learned with Codeacedemy. Coding is really fun!

    Cartooning

    Cartooning

    As you may know, I have taken cartooning as a hobby. I have made my own website that has some of my comics. Here it is: ToonMaster3 GemsI haven’t uploaded all my comics on to the site, so there is only three for now. I do it online because I’m terrible failing bombing not that good at drawing on paper. Cartooning is a cool hobby, and I can print out my comics and give them out. Even better, I can staple them all into a comic book and give those out too. I’ve been making a newspaper for the house, and my comics would be good for the funnies section. And reading comics online can give you good jokes if you’re a comedian. Start cartooning, before you know it your comics could be in the newspaper! One of mine is at the top.
